Linux auf 1.3.5 — Handy-Ansicht und ein behobener Antwortfehler
- Die Linux-Fassung (x86) bringt jetzt ebenfalls die Handy-Ansicht mit: schmale Fenster landen automatisch in der Chat-Sicht, ?desktop=1 erzwingt das volle Cockpit.
- Behoben: In der Linux-Fassung 1.3.4 konnten freie Fragen statt einer ehrlichen Antwort eine kryptische Fehlermeldung zeigen — eine interne Einstellungsdatei lag am falschen Ort. Wer 1.3.4 nutzt: einfach die 1.3.5 herunterladen und über die alte Installation entpacken.
- Die Raspberry-Pi-Fassung wurde mit demselben Fix neu geschnürt — die Prüfsumme auf der Download-Seite ist entsprechend aktualisiert.

BRAIN für Raspberry Pi — weil ihr danach gefragt habt
- Wir haben immer gesagt, BRAIN läuft auch auf einem Raspberry Pi — jetzt gibt es die Fassung dazu. Für Pi 4 und 5 mit 64-Bit-System und andere ARM64-Linux-Rechner; die Python-Umgebung liegt im Paket, nichts nachinstallieren.
- Voller Funktionsumfang der Community-Edition samt Handy-Ansicht und aktuellem Wissensstand. Der Erststart braucht auf einem Pi 10 bis 30 Minuten; empfohlen sind 8 GB RAM und eine schnelle Karte oder SSD.
- Ehrlich dazu: geprüft in ARM64-Emulation — Rückmeldungen von echten Pis sind uns besonders willkommen.

BRAIN 1.3.5 (Android) — eigene Handy-Oberfläche
- BRAIN hat jetzt eine aufs Handy zugeschnittene Oberfläche: großes Eingabefeld unten, daumentaugliche Knöpfe, klare Chat-Blasen. Wer die Cockpit-Vollansicht will, hängt ?desktop=1 an die Adresse.
- Aufs Startbildschirm: über das Browser-Menü (Seite hinzufügen zu -> Startbildschirm) bekommt BRAIN sein Symbol und startet vollbild wie eine App — ohne App-Store und ohne Konto.
- Die Handy-Ansicht steckt in derselben Software wie alles andere; Windows und Linux bekommen sie mit dem nächsten Wochen-Update automatisch mit.

BRAIN Community 1.3.4 — mehr Wissen, erstmals Android, sauberere Pakete
- 567.277 neue geprüfte Fakten, 494.612 neue Kollokationen und 20 geprüfte Code-Beispiele aus Wotans Wochen-Ernte — jede Übernahme lief durch die Lab-Prüfung (23 Tests, grün). Bestehende Installationen bekommen den Zuwachs automatisch als signiertes Update (~118 MB).
- BRAIN läuft jetzt auch auf Android (Termux, 64-Bit) — dieselbe Software, aufs Handy zugeschnitten: ohne Programmieren und ohne Funktionen, die eine Grafikkarte brauchen. Entwickelt und geprüft auf einem Galaxy S24 Ultra.
- Aufgeräumt: In den Paketen 1.3.0 bis 1.3.3 lag versehentlich eine Datei mit Test-Chats aus unserer Entwicklung (harmlose Testfragen, aber sie gehörte dort nicht hinein — manche Nutzer sahen sie als fremde Chatliste). Sie ist raus, und der Bauablauf verhindert das jetzt maschinell.
- Das Start-Skript BRAIN-Start.bat wartet jetzt aktiv, bis BRAIN bereit ist, statt den Browser nach vier Sekunden ins Leere zu öffnen.

BRAIN für Linux — dieselbe Fassung, jetzt auch ohne Windows
- BRAIN läuft ab sofort auch unter Linux (64-Bit). Es ist derselbe Stand wie die Windows-Fassung 1.3.3 — kein abgespeckter Ableger, sondern dieselbe Software.
- Ausgeliefert als Archiv zum Auspacken (~2,5 GB, entpackt 5,5 GB). Die Python-Umgebung liegt mit im Paket: es muss nichts nachinstalliert werden, und BRAIN schreibt ausschließlich in seinen eigenen Ordner. Entfernen heißt: Ordner löschen.
- Start über ./BRAIN.sh — mit denselben Vorkehrungen wie die reparierte Windows-Fassung: sofort eine Warteseite im Browser, 15 Minuten Geduld beim Erststart, ein Startprotokoll und im Fehlerfall eine sichtbare Meldung statt Stille.
- Wer möchte, trägt BRAIN mit ./menue-eintrag.sh ins Anwendungsmenü ein — und mit ./menue-eintrag.sh entfernen wieder aus.
- Ehrlich dazu: gebaut und geprüft auf Ubuntu 24.04. Die mitgelieferte Umgebung ist für gängige Linux-Systeme gebaut und sollte auch anderswo laufen — geprüft ist bislang genau diese eine.

BRAIN Community 1.3.3 — Startprobleme behoben
- BRAIN.exe fehlte in den Paketen vom 11. August: Die Installation lief durch, der letzte Schritt scheiterte dann an einer Datei, die gar nicht mitgeliefert wurde („CreateProcess schlug fehl; Code 2"). Das Startprogramm ist wieder im Paket, und der Bauablauf bricht jetzt selbst ab, falls es je wieder fehlt.
- Doppelklick schien nichts zu tun: BRAIN lief im Hintergrund an, aber das Startprogramm wartete nur 60 Sekunden — der allererste Start braucht länger. Jetzt erscheint sofort eine Warteseite im Browser, die von selbst umschaltet, sobald BRAIN bereit ist. Gewartet wird 15 Minuten statt einer.
- Keine stillen Fehlschläge mehr: Geht beim Start etwas schief, erscheint eine Meldung im Klartext, und BRAIN schreibt ein Startprotokoll (start-protokoll.txt), das man dem Support schicken kann.
- Prüfsumme auf der Download-Seite korrigiert: Sie gehörte noch zu einer älteren Fassung — wer der Anleitung folgte und nachrechnete, bekam „stimmt nicht", obwohl seine Datei einwandfrei war. Dateiname, Prüfsumme und Versionsangabe werden jetzt nur noch gemeinsam aktualisiert und nach dem Hochladen gegengeprüft.

BRAIN 1.3.2 — new interface, a handbook, and simpler installation
- Redesigned interface: a labelled menu that collapses to just the icons, a start page with suggestions to get going, and calmer colours.
- Conversations can now be searched, archived and deleted — deleted ones go to a wastebasket and can be brought back.
- A handbook in eleven chapters ships with BRAIN: installing, what BRAIN can do, languages, modules, your own documents, troubleshooting.
- “My knowledge” now leads straight to adding your own documents.

- A quit button closes BRAIN completely — nothing keeps running in the background.

- This batch contains 1,978,044 newly verified facts, 1,372,410 word combinations with a source sentence, and 1,130 tested code examples.
- Vocabulary for over 150 languages: from Afrikaans through Icelandic and Korean to Ukrainian. German and English remain part of every edition, the other languages from Standard upwards.
- These are dictionaries for looking words up — meanings, synonyms, common word combinations — not a translation engine for whole texts.

BRAIN Community 1.3.0 — multiple-choice questions, honest answers about itself, fewer wrong answers
- BRAIN now answers multiple-choice questions too — but only when the answer is in its verified knowledge. If no option fits, or it is ambiguous, BRAIN says nothing instead of guessing.
- Asked “Are you a human?”, BRAIN now answers honestly and plainly (transparency requirement of the EU AI Act).
- Far fewer wrong answers: BRAIN only replies when the information it found really matches the question asked — tested on 4,326 questions, not one of them answered incorrectly.
- Twice as much language material for writing: 6,116 instead of 3,183 terms with sourced verbs. More topics BRAIN can actually phrase an answer about.
- 3.3 million self-harvested, verified facts as a knowledge source of its own — shipped in full for the first time.
